Ballarat Connected Communities directors are all members of the Ballarat community, and they are keen to speak to members of the public about the activities of the Ballarat Connected Communities.
Chair – Cameron Montgomery
Cameron has an extensive background with over 18 years of experience in OHS, Injury Management, Human Resources, Risk Management, Insurance and Corporate Governance. Through his work in the Commonwealth and Local Government sectors in regional Victoria he has developed extensive experience in public administration, construction, arts, health care and tourism industries.
As a safety professional, he serves on the Industry Advisory Board for VIOSH at Federation University, Stakeholder Reference Group, WorkSafe Victoria and has served on Industry Advisory Board of SGS Australia as an industry expert. Cameron is a Certified Generalist OHS Professional and Fellow of the Safety Institute of Australia and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
He has a natural positive leadership approach that inspires actions built on genuine partnerships. Through the provision of innovative advice and services, he is able to negotiate and influence to achieve desired outcomes that are broader and more impactful on not just workplace, but the culture.

Mardi is a highly motivated, results driven leader with over sixteen years experience in the education management industry in leadership roles, specialising in strategy development in stakeholder engagement, marketing, communications and project management. Mardi is highly skilled in event management and organizational change and design. She is currently Head of Engagement at Ballarat Clarendon College.
Mardi grew up in Ballarat and spent twenty years developing her career and gaining experience in Melbourne, prior to returning to her home town.
She loves travelling to warm destinations and exploring new cultures.

Sally has broad experience in the business community enjoying entrepreneur activities, sales and marketing, event management, community engagement and key stakeholder management.
Sally created a business in the cemetery sector providing locally made memorials and plaques to cemeteries and the community across Australia. Dearly Plaques & Memorials was an idea that she had with her family and has grown to now supply thousands of memorials for families around Australia.
She started the business as a side hustle, with the vision to impart on her children the importance to innovate, to give things a try so there are no regrets and to follow your dreams!
Sally is a volunteer at Lifeline Ballarat, is on the Creswick Cemetery Trust, and part of the Ballarat Cemetery Community Advisory Committee.
She enjoys holiday’s away (sunshine in winter), spending time on her small farm locally and spending time with her family.

Brett started his management career when at Radio Ballarat as Program Director. This included the launch of Power FM and conversion of 3BA to the FM Band. Following 14 years in radio Brett joined what was Rural Press (now Australian Community Media) and occupied senior advertising roles at both The Courier (Ballarat) and Examiner (Launceston). In 2012 he was appointed General Manager of The Courier and in 2013 was acting General Manager of Radio Ballarat.
From 2014 Brett held the role of CEO of the Royal South Street Society, Australia’s longest running performing arts Eisteddfod. In 2020 Brett returned to radio as breakfast newsreader and host of Ballarat Today. He is a volunteer MC for organisations such as the Ballarat RSL, Committee for Ballarat and Ballarat Foundation. Brett is married to Mandy with 3 daughters.

Throughout Jamie’s career as a plumber he has developed the ability to not only change a tap washer but to operate a plumbing business in Ballarat, employing 8 staff.
In his mid-twenties Jamie chose to join the Apex Club of Wendouree in Ballarat where he could expel his enthusiasm to helps others in the community. He can attest to gaining more than what he gave throughout his involvement.
He continues to volunteer with The Old Colonists’ Association of Ballarat Inc and Commerce Ballarat as a business mentor.
Fun is being with the family for holidays and following their sporting pursuits. More travelling is required and on the arisen.

David is our local Senior Branch Manager. With close to 20 years’ experience in banking and extensive Community Board experience, predominantly in Cricket, also with the University of Ballarat’s Golden Key.
David is currently the Finance Director for Ballarat City Football Club, the Vice President for AAA Sports Ballarat, a board member of Carols by Candlelight Ballarat, also the Finance Director of PCD Australia Inc (ACNC, DGR status).
With years of experience in cricket, has recently joined the Ballarat Cricket Umpires Association as a Cricket Umpire. Married to Kylie, lives locally with a passion for Ballarat
