Meals for Change

Supporting young people, aged 15-25, to access affordable meals in local cafes, Meals for Change used their grant to provide over 500 visits and in excess of 700 meals. Received during the Covid-19 pandemic, Meals for Change were able to provide a meal, offer a chance for their members to connect with others during periods of isolation and support local small businesses struggling with reduced patronage.

Ballarat Football Umpires Association

The Ballarat Football Umpires Association used their funding to support the health and wellbeing of their team. Received during the Covid environment, BFUA were able to facilitate sessions focused on identifying the mental health of their members, building a strong and resilient team and strengthening their culture. The support made a significant positive difference to their community.

Ballarat Pony Club

Ballarat Pony Club used their grant to purchase a new set of Horizon Show Jumps, providing members with exposure to modern, bright showjumping equipment which enabled them to improve their equestrian skills. The Pony Club see themselves as a wonderful way to foster an enjoyment of equestrian sport in a fun, friendly and supportive environment while providing a safe space for children to feel respected and empowered.

Hive Mind Community Apiary

Incorporated in 2019, Hive Mind Community Apiary is a community enterprise providing mindful beekeeping and therapeutic horticulture for people living with mental illness. Based on a successful model in Vancouver, Canada, Hive Mind used their grant to develop and deliver a program that enabled participants a wholistic overview of how to become autonomous beekeepers while providing social interaction and community connection.

Kids Foundation

The Kids Foundation used their grant to publish their book, 'SeeMore Bug Safety; the tiny germs we can't see'. The book, distributed through early learning centres in regional Ballarat, ensured children were educated through the COVID-19 pandemic about hygiene best practice including healthy eating and hand washing.
